Twenty-Five years young
in a one room apartment
Minneapolis purple rain
Radio Flyer little red wagon on the city bus
Two baby girls and a purse jingling with laundry quarters
Little Golden books and Mister Rogers
Preschool inner city dust
Public swimming pools or bust
Art school easels
small faces on black & white film
Pat Benatar and uptown bars
Bleach blonde hair on stage
Indigo Girls were closer to fine
Three year old knees dangling from high tops
Shirley temples, an extra cherry and a wink
The cost of her compromise
Giving everything
keeping our shoes clean
no crumbs in the living room
and bath bubbles every night
